Beyond the What: Exploring Risk Factors for Alzheimer’s Disease
We’ve come a long way in understanding both the non-modifiable (things you can’t do anything about) and modifiable (things you can change) risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease. In this segment, we talked about the non-modifiable factors: age, gender, and genetics.
Tune in next week to learn about the modifiable risk factors!
Let’s Talk: Wendy Swanson, Sonoma Valley High School
Wendy is the Work-Based Learning Coordinator at the Sonoma Valley High School College & Career Center. We discussed the many paths students take after high school, which may or may not involve a 4-year college track. Wendy oversees the Career Technical Education offerings at SVHS, which include classes and exposure to the healthcare and culinary arts fields. Listen for more information on the offerings that we all wish we had in high school!
What’s Feeling Alive: Connecting with Difference
As our special-needs daughter nears her 8th birthday, I reflected on some heartwarming interactions other children have had with her lately. Even though Emily doesn’t have verbal language, young children have been the most interested in getting to know her and pulling her into their world. We can all learn something from young curiosity.
Thanks for being here,
Allison
