Low education
Hearing loss
High LDL cholesterol
Depression
Traumatic brain injury
Physical inactivity
Diabetes
Smoking
Hypertension
Obesity
Excessive alcohol consumption
Air pollution

Untreated vision loss

Let’s Talk: Scott Murray, Cancer Support Sonoma

I’ll be participating in a special upcoming event — Integrative Wellness: A Day of Care, Connection & Renewal — hosted by Cancer Support Sonoma and Bay Area Cancer Connection on May 9th.

I spoke with Scott Murray, Board President of Cancer Support Sonoma, to learn more about what this day has in store. The event brings together integrative wellness resources and community support for those navigating the cancer journey. I’ll be there leading a cooking demonstration and discussing the important role nutrition plays in cancer care and recovery.

This is a free event, though registration is required. For more information or to register, call 707-509-3549 or fill out the registration form here.

What’s Feeling Alive: Ok, so I just read this book…

It has been a longstanding joke that while the rest of the world is watching movies, TV, and now Netflix, YouTube, and scrolling, I am reading. I’ve always loved to read, and I love to talk about what I’m reading.

When talking with friends recently, the inevitable “Ok, so I just read this book” came out of my mouth, and my friend said that is the perfect title for a podcast. I’m not sure I’m ready to take that on as a new project, but it’s certainly something I can sneak into Insight into Health on KSVY.

So here I go: Ok, so I just read this book… The Power of Meaning by Emily Esfahani Smith. Listen to the show recording for more info, and let me know if you give it a read!
