Beyond the What: Possible Causes of Cognitive Decline

I shared a little about the progression from baseline cognition to subjective cognitive impairment (SCI) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and some basic differences between these stages and more “normal” age-related cognitive decline.

I then shared some factors that could be related to changing cognition, including hearing loss, sleep disturbances, mental health challenges, thyroid dysfunction, and some nutrient deficiencies, as well as medication side effects.

More on the lifestyle factors to promote cognitive health next week.

Let’s Talk: Anastasia Encarnacion

Anastasia joined us once again to talk about mindful functional fitness — this time, all about the core.

My big takeaways? Our is foundational, deeply interconnected with the rest of our body, and is at the root (or shall I say, core…) of every movement we make.

Take a listen to learn more about the core’s role in stability and movement. While you are at it, you will learn why sitting is so hard on the body and hear us having great fun practicing “bun-ups.”

Thanks for being here,

Allison
